Jack Brotherhood's new single Nausea is out now.
The track is a mid-tempo indie rock banger that grabs you from the off and comes complete with a guitar solo from Ray Syed. It follows on from Osprey Season which was released in February.
Frontman Logan Stewart said about the single: "The nausea here comes from the song's clashing of emotions at two stages of life: all-consuming teenage feelings of infatuation, and far more tempered notions of love from someone slightly older."
"In that sense, it's a sort of post-coming-of-age story, where the emotional development happened some time ago and the narrator can look back from a place of maturity, even if there is a hint of lasting pain - maybe time doesn't heal all wounds."
"Having said all that, and if I'm being totally honest, I take weekly medication that makes me feel quite sick, so this one started off pretty literally..."
Jack Brotherhood formed around lifelong friends singer/songwriter Logan Stewart and Ray Syed in Glasgow. Together with drummer Jamie McHarg and bassist Sam Bingham, they have been releasing music and performing live for more than five years.
Highlights include headlining legendary Glasgow venue King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, performing at Scottish music festivals Stag & Dagger and Tenement Trail, and opening for various touring acts across Scotland's central belt. They also contributed to a charity compilation of songs by The National, a release which was well received by The National band member Bryce Dessner himself.
Jack Brotherhood have been reviewed positively by influential Scottish music institutions such as Tenement TV and the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA). They have also been playlisted by Spotify's editorial team.
